Gardner, Dennis
The path to Dennis Gardner’s life as an artist has taken some twists and turns along the way. In 1967, while Dennis was a student at Pittsburg State University majoring in fine art, the U.S. was at war. Dennis left school to join the Marine Corps and spent a tour of duty in Vietnam. When Dennis returned home, his life took another turn, and for the next 35 years his art career was put on hold. Three years ago, Dennis began drawing again and later began painting with oils. In the past two years, he has studied with Judith Mackey, Hugh Greer and Dana Hassett as he returns to the creative life he began nearly four decades ago.
