Carol Lee Jarvis has been around art her whole life. She had many art lessons at the knee of her adopted grandmother, Mary Lois Zeigler, a locally known porcelain artist. Many of her views on art were influenced not only by her artist father, Wayne Jarvis, but also by her photographer brother, Wayne Jarvis II. Although painting and photography are two forms of art that Carol Lee enjoys, she would define herself as a mosaic artist, which she confesses is where her true love for art lies. She says, “I like to be able to feel my work. Running my hands over what I’ve just completed makes my soul smile!”
“Painting is special to me nonetheless, as this is a way that I still feel connected to my dad. He has been gone now for over 30 years and, even up until only a few years ago, I didn’t fully understand some of what he taught me. All that I paint, I dedicate to his memory.”
