Swearingen, JoAnn
For JoAnn Swearingen, painting is a part of who she is. Her favorite genre is plein air landscapes in oil, pastel and watercolor. She says, “I love the outdoors and painting light, mood and atmosphere.” JoAnn received her master’s degree from Wichita State University, and has studied with Kandy Tate, Mary Binford Miller and Steve Murillo. She has taken workshops with Albert Handell, Richard Schmid, Hugh Greer and Jean Chambers. Her artwork has won numerous awards and was selected for the 2007 Oil Painters of America (OPA) Regional exhibit and the 2008 Paint America, Art in the Parks show. She is a member of Oil Painters of America, Kansas Academy of Oil Painters and the Kansas Art Guild.
