A native of Parsons Kansas, Jon studied architecture and design at Pittsburgh State University before attending the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois. The blend of architectural and fine art studies is key to Jon's ability to create vivid works of art with he power to stir feelings and memories in the hearts and minds of the viewers.

Prior to launching his career as a theme artist who's art is reproduced into print, Jon concentratred on creating commissioned portraits in oil of people and families in natural settings. Jon produces very few paintings each year choosing to focus more on the quality of each piece of work.
