Robert Swain holds a bachelor’s degree of fine arts in painting from the University of Kansas, where he was a 1985 recipient of the Daniel MacMorris Scholarship, given annually to the top painting students. After graduating in 1986, he spent most of the next 20 years involved in the banking and technology businesses. However, since 2005, he has returned full time to the world of art. His current artistic efforts focus primarily on his quirky contemporary still-life paintings, though occasionally he also works on landscapes, portraits and other subject matter. Swain lives and works in Topeka, Kan. His work is regularly shown at galleries in Kansas City and Topeka.
